Pilgrim Centres

GURUVAYOOR located 29 kms noth west of Trichur,is one ofthe most sacred and important pilgrim centres of kerala .Its main attraction is the Sree Krishna Temple known here as “Guruvayoorappan” Non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple.
SABARIMALA one of the most famous Pilgrim centres in India,is situated on the mountain ranges of the western ghats an altitude of 914 mts.above sea level and is accessable only foot.The temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa.Pilgrim Season Nov.to mid Jan.Rest of the year except the first 5days of every Malayalam month and Vishu.People of all cast and creed are permitted into the temple except women between ten and fifty years old age.
KALADY the birth place of Adi Sankaracharya ,the great Advaitha philosopher of the 8th centuary.Kalady is situated 32 kms away from Cochin.The temple dedicated to sree Sankara,Saradevi,Sree krishna and Sree Ramakrishna add sanctity to the places.Sree Ramakrishna Advaita Asramam Sringeri Matt and Adi Sankara Keerthi Sthamba Mandapam are the main Places to visit. MALAYATTUR 47 KM away from cochin ,is famous for the Catholic Chruch on the 609 mts.high Malayattur hill(Dedicated to St.Thomas).The main Feast Malayattur Perunnal is in March/April
